Have you guys filled your scrappy hearts with lots of pretty inspiration? I hope you have and I hope you’re all ready to see a little more, here, on All The Neffyness.
First of all, I wanted to start off by wishing In The Scrap a very Happy 3rd Birthday! It has been three full years of inspiration for you all, curated by so many talented and creative minds and I am thrilled to be sharing in on the fun this year.
So I thought that today I would share with you a really fun scrapbooking technique. Are you ready? Here it is:
Heat Embossing + Watercolor Resist
This simple, yet fun technique, can be used to create really fun watercolor effects on your layouts. This technique can be used for your layouts, cards, mini’s… really, any project!
Today I will share all the steps on how I finished off this dreamy layout of me and my son:
Can you see the subtle shapes through the watercolor? It is very simple to get this technique done and you will need a few basic supplies:
- Heat Tool
- White/Clear Pigment Ink Pad
- White/Clear Embossing Powder
- Watercolors
- Stamp Set of Your Choice
Once, you’ve got your supplies gathered you are all set to create a Watercolor Resist layout or card.
For your entertainment, I created a video with the process I used to get this technique done and you can watch it here:
Well, friends, what do you think? It’s a super fun and easy technique, isn’t it? I really hope you enjoyed this bit of inspiration and that you will go out and try it on your own!
But the fun is not over! If you have been following the Blog Hop you know that you can enter in to win a fabulous prize, so leave me a comment below to enter.

Goodbye for now!
I love the technique you used and the colours you picked. I will totally try it because I love watercolours although I still have a lot to learn and it looks easy. Congratulations for the anniversary! 🙂
