Layout | Happiness Is You + Me

I’ve got a brand new process video on my Crafty Channel today and I wanted to share it with you all here because I haven’t been really good about sharing my projects on my blog lately.

It’s something I struggle with, because I feel like sitting down and writing out can be a bit tedious.

But I feel like the payoff of me sharing on my blog is greater than that of just keeping all my projects stashed away forever in my phone’s memory. Therefore, I am continually pushing myself out of my comfort zone and hopping on here more often.

Today I had Process #45 go up on my YouTube channel, and it’s a really cool layout that was inspired by the super talented Fishstick_In_Love on Instagram.

I am actually lucky enough to be a team member with her on the In The Scrap Design Team and she’s a total inspiration to me because she loves those white backgrounds as much as I do!

Her stuff is spectacular and I invite you guys to check her out online.

So this layout was completely inspired by Christina: the cut out florals, the mix of papers and elements that go from the top of the page to the bottom.

I really had a blast mixing in a bunch of Crate Paper bits and pieces, including a roller stamp.

If you guys are interested in seeing the whole process on how I worked up this layout, I invite you all to visit my YouTube Channel where this video is available! While you’re there, don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE!!

I’ve also directly linked the video down below, but first I want to share a few more closeups.

This layout is totally a fave and even though I know we’re just a week away from Halloween, I am sooo loving the summer vibes from the LO.

So, no more hold ups… here is the Process for the layout, just click the link below the image.

I hope you enjoy!

Layout | GBDT | Little Boys…

Welcome back, everyone! I hope you’re having yourselves a fun Saturday. I’ve got lots of celebrations planned through the weekend and I’m quite excited to have some fun filling up my schedule.

But before all that fun stuff pulls me away from scrappy land , I wanted to stop and share another layout and Process Video today.

Today I am sharing my first project I made for Gossamer Blue using the Main Scrapbook Kit.

This month’s kit was filled with vibrant greens, oranges, reds, blues and yellows. Perfect for some summery layouts and boy layouts. So I went for the boy layout, of course, and created this:

I wanted to really showcase all of the amazing colors and patterns of the exclusive papers we got in the Main Kit. So I decided to create a paper pieced title and use up all of the colorful supplies to create a fun layout of my son’s album.

I picked a photo of him when he was a little younger and playing with some dirt at the park. This photo just gave me all the Mommy feels and made me think of how much I love this messy little boy. It made me think of a few nursery quotes that mention what little boys are made of. This photo made me think of what my little boy is made of and I got two things: noise and dirt. Haha.

I had to make a layout just how I pictured it in my head!

So, I first used some watercolor paints to create an easy backdrop by brushing four colors and adding matching splatters.

Then, to make this big title I simply cut out squares the same size, free handing the first square then tracing the rest. Then I feel handed the letters out of the squares each one by one. Easy!

I then came in with a bunch of extra bits and pieces from the kit to add some fun to my photo. I used the enamel shapes, the rubber shapes and the cork stickers!

How amazing right? So much fun textures items in this kit!

I did also add stitching to my title because I felt it would ground it better on my page. Finally, I finished off my layout by adding he last bit of the title on a label tag.

That’s it!

I think this layout is SUPERB!!! It was so much fun to get it together and then see it come to life.

I love it!

So, I did record the process for this Layout and I hope you guys are excited to watch it here:

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope you guys have got your June Gossamer Blue Kits ready to play and get some fun summer layouts done.

Until next time, stay scrappy!

So, have you ever given the paper piecing technique a try? I’d love to hear from you! Leave me a comment below and let chat.

Layout | 8 1/2 by 11 | Lovely

Happy Humpday everyone!

I am back to share a super fun layout I made after having some major pink withdrawals. I have been so busy making tons of layouts using my GB kits, however, the colors for June were bright and summer themed.

That doesn’t include pink!

I made a bunch of layouts for my sons album using the kits, but I felt like it was time to get some layouts of myself just so I can create something girly and cutesy.

So I made this layout:

Before I started, I did what I normally do when I am not sure what kind of layout to create: I visited my Scrapbook Inspiration board on Pinterest.

If you want to take a look at the Inspo I have pinned on my Scrapbook Board, you can check it out here.

So, I stumbled upon two layouts using strips of paper as the main way to use up the patterned papers. I found inspiration from this one:

I totally #scraplifted it because its just beautiful to look at. Isn’t it?

So I picked a photo and put all my strips to the right side of my page and the photo to the left of the strips.

This is before I added my title and embellishments:

As you can see, I also added some glittery ribbon and stitched it on with my sewing machine. I also added stitching to a couple of strips all the way down.

The next step was to add a bit more embellishments. I used some Maggie Holmes embellishment stickers including the two bows.

I made sure to use pop dots on the little speech bubbles to add a little extra dimension. I cut them out of a sheet of Crate Paper Heart Day collection.

I should mention, all the word strip papers were Crate Paper; some are Maggie Holmes and others are Heart Day and Oasis collection.

They work together so perfectly!

For my title I used some Page Evans Thickers from her Take Me Away collection. They go so perfect and I just love the font.

I also use a few hearts and popped them randomly on the paper strips.

Finally, I added some bit of stamping using my Heidi Swapp roller phrase stamp and some of her mists to splatter some of that minty goodness!

That’s it. Look at that fluffy goodness!!

I think its just beatiful and it’s the perfect dosage of pinks, blacks, whites and soft mints. My favorite colors ever!!!

Okay, I really like it. haha

Like a lot.

So much that I have a Process Video, too.

You can watch it here:

That’s how this layout came together. All the details will be in the video.

I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time!

So what do you think about scrap lifting? It might seem a little scary to use others ideas but it’s definitely worth it when it’s for something beautiful, I say!

Layout | GBDT | Awesome Good Vibes

Hello everyone, and happy Friday eve! I’m stopping by today to share with you another super fun and colorful layout I made using the Gossamer Blue May Life Pages Kit. If that’s wasn’t a mouthful enough, I don’t know what is!

But anyways, I created a layout using such an unexpected kit and it’s kind of becoming my favorite thing to do. I love being able to use my kits in more ways than they are intended

So this beautiful and colorful layout was made using the pretty colors and cards in the kit plus a bit of stamping using the April Life Pages stamp and also a few pattern papers from the Main Kit.

I love the completely fun vibe this layout has. I’m in love!

So, I did record the full process and I’ve got a video up on my YouTube channel that I’d love to invite all of you to watch here, so please stop by!

I hope you enjoyed this quick share. Please feel free to leave me a comment below! See you all next time!

Layout | GBDT | You Are My Sunshine

Welcome back, guys! I hope you are all having a great Memorial Day today in the States and for all of you, as well, I hope you’re having a great Monday.

I am excited to be back today to be sharing this layout I made for Gossamer using their all exclusive May Main Scrapbook Kit.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in a previous post but from this month forward, Gossamer Blue will be an all exclusive kit club which means all their items are custom designed every month!

That leaves me super excited to be playing with such awesome supplies and goodies every month.

I have created tons with all the beautiful items they have sent me and the Main Kit was a complete favorite for me. I don’t know what it is, but I always start to play with the Main Kits, and this month I was super excited to see what I would find in my kits.

I found so many beautiful colors in pastel perfect for the month of Spring and Sunshine! So to create the above layout I was completely inspired by this beautiful rain clouds paper.

I immediately knew that I wanted to create a rain scene with this exact photo. It is not the brightest as it was taken during a winter rain storm, but I love the happiness in my son’s face!

I was excited to bring back a little stitching into my layout, since it’s been months since I have done some of this awesome stitching technique on paper. It makes my clouds look soft and fluffy!

I created a base for my photo using some mists and using the packaging technique.

Then, I used mostly the ephemera pieces to add all the special details to my layout, including some super cute raindrops, an adorable little house, and some cute word phrase banners.

On the right side of my photo I included a journaling card, that was also part of the ephemera pack, to write my journaling. I also added a bit of stamping using the set that comes in the kit.

Did I mention these kits are filled with amazing supplies?! They seriously are!

Finally, I created my title by using some alphas I have from old Gossamer Blue kits, and that was it!

I would also like to invite you to stop by my YouTube Channel and come check out my full process here:

I absolutely love this layout because I love the perfect scene I created for this photo with just one kit’s supplies’! I’m so happy I had the most perfect supplies to record this memory.

Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all have a safe and blessed week, and that you get some time to get your craft on! xo
